  • Can you copy a design I’ve seen online?
    We can certainly look at the design to see what elements you like but we do not copy other cake designers work. All of our cakes are designed individually for each and every client, therefore ensuring total originality.
  • Do you make birthday and other celebration cakes?
    Yes, we make cakes for other celebrations as long as they are in keeping with the style we specialise in. We do not make ‘novelty’ or ‘character’ cakes.
  • Can I have fresh flowers on my cake?
    We do not decorate cakes with fresh flowers. Naomi is a sugar flower artist who specialises in creating your cake flowers from sugar.
  • What is the process to design a cake with you?
    Please do get in touch to start the ball rolling. We can then discuss your initial ideas and thoughts via email or telephone. I always recommend a tasting session where possible, I mean who doesn’t like a little bit of cake every now and again! My face to face (or cake to mouth, however you like to think of it) consultations are £80 and you’ll get to try four of my flavours. But more than that, it’s about getting to know you, sharing ideas, sketches and working out what you want. Only then can I get stuck into the design process. Are you too busy to meet? (I totally understand it can be a really hectic time, juggling wedding planning and your usual commitments) That is no problem at all, simply order a sample box of four flavours to enjoy in the comfort of your own home for £40. If you would like to book me to create your special cake, I will ask for a £100 non refundable deposit, which just like my tasting sessions and boxes, is redeemable against your total cake price. Once you have secured your date, we can begin the design process over the telephone and via email. Designing will continue until you are totally in love with your cake. From design stage, baking, decorating to delivery and set up, I ensure the very best in quality, consistency and professionalism throughout. tasting sessions and cake sample boxes are fully redeemable against the price of your Botanico cake.
  • How much would a cake cost?
    Each cake is priced individually according to design complexity. Please note that because of the bespoke nature of our work, we have a minimum order value of £500.
  • How far in advance should I book my cake?
    We take bookings up to 12 months in advance, so please get in contact as soon as you know your wedding date. We can sometimes accommodate shorter notice booking but please note that key wedding season dates do get booked up rather quickly.
  • Where do you deliver to?
    We are based in Surrey and therefore most deliveries we make are in Surrey, London, Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the surrounding counties. We can deliver and set up cakes anywhere in the UK, subject to delivery charge and mileage.
  • Can I hire a cake stand?
    Yes! These are generally between £20-£40 for a three day hire period. We take a security deposit of £50, which is refunded when the stand is returned as long as it is undamaged.
  • What flavour cakes do you make?
    Vanilla with strawberry / raspberry jam and vanilla bean buttercream Rich chocolate with indulgent chocolate buttercream Pistachio cake with blackberry jam and vanilla bean buttercream Sicilian lemon with tangy lemon curd and lemon buttercream Moist carrot cake with valencian orange buttercream Zesty orange with dark chocolate buttercream Red velvet with vanilla bean buttercream Earl grey and lemon cake with lemon buttercream Lemon and Blueberry cake with blueberry jam and lemon buttercream Citrus and thyme cake with citrus buttercream Lemon and poppyseed cake with lemon buttercream Almond cake with cherry jam and cherry buttercream Vanilla cake with salted caramel sauce and salted caramel buttercream Bespoke flavours can usually be accommodated so please do ask if you have something specific in mind.
  • Can you cater for special diets and allergies?
    We have gluten free options and we can also make vegan cakes. We use nuts and other common allergens in some of our recipes. We cannot guarantee that any cake will be free of trace of allergens and therefore our produce is not suitable for those with allergies.
  • What type of covering do you use for your cakes?
    Taste is everything here at Botanico. Only good, honest ingredients go into our cakes. That’s why I only use organic free range eggs, organic milk, butter and organic cocoa throughout all recipes. All cakes are filled with buttercream and are then covered with white, milk or dark chocolate ganache. Cakes can be left covered with buttercream or ganache if you prefer that to fondant.
